This is the introductory class that sets the stage for all the other higher level Design Tech courses we offer. This includes direct instruction on age-appropriate projects with open-ended creative input. By the end of this class, students should have confidence in the process of creating designs in Tinkercad and outputting them to 3d print and laser cutting.

Participants in this class should have basic computer navigation skills before joining.

OnShape is professional CAD software - more complex to learn, but much more capable than Tinkercad. The class includes direct instruction on the basics of tools in software and equipment while developing projects with open-ended creative input. By the end of this class, students should have confidence in the process of creating simple OnShape designs and outputting them to 3d print and laser cutting. Students that took Design Tech Intro - Tinkercad may take this course as well.

Cost $25 per project kit

May Workshop: May 11 (light-up stands)

There will be no Saturday Projects June - August. They will resume in September. Check out our summer camps with UWGB in the link at the top of this page.

May Project - Light Stands

Design, laser cutting and LEDS make for a great Saturday morning project ( pssst…they also make great Mothers Day gifts).

We have easy-to-customize templates, or, if you have Tinkercad chops, you can design your own etching. Then use our illustrated instructions to put it all together and light it up!.

Pizza & Project Night

This is an opportunity for teachers (formal and informal) to get together, network, socialize and learn a valuable maker skill for your classroom. We’ll bring the pizza and you may bring a refreshment of your choice.

Participants must be over 21 to participate.
