Lesson 13: Slope – Manual suggest 7-8” slope-this is too steep. If reduced to
3 ˝ -4” – works better

Combine Lessons 13 & 14 – have ˝ the class do each, easier to compare slope/erosion

Lesson 12:  build a dam to keep a town from flooding
 Studied Hoover Dam

Lesson 15-16:  “Protecting our Home sites”, students become engineers & construct a stream table, place a home in a section of the table, and the objective is not to have their home flood when water flows

Used the “Clean Bay Backers” program – deals with the Fox River & its tributaries

Reports on rivers, highlighting words they learned

One class presented their favorite experiments to other classes
