Teacher Recommended Resources - Electric Circuits

These extensions are brought to you by other teachers who have used this unit. They have not been evaluated by The Einstein Project.  Rev. 3/20/08

Circuit board construction

Light up Haunted Houses (boxes printed & decorated) – if used in the fall

Electromagnets

Static electricity

Videos:  Electric Circuits
    Dangers of Electricity
Elementary Electricity – Nat. Geographic #51568
    Magic School Bus “Gets Energized”
    Ben and Me

Unit on inventors (Bell, Franklin, Edison)

Read books on insulators & conductors

Used vocabulary words from kit to make a concentration game

Trip to Point Beach Energy Center

Energy Balls – the whole class can hold hands & keep the circuit complete. If one person drops their hands, the circuit breaks

Use Christmas lights as part of the series & parallel lesson

Examined buttons that light up and blink [ie Kiss Me I’m Irish]. We discussed how they work and why they light.

Added static electricity

Added atoms and how they work with electricity
