Rev. 3/20/08 Circuit board construction Light up Haunted Houses (boxes printed & decorated) – if used in the fall Electromagnets Static electricity Videos: Electric Circuits Unit on inventors (Bell, Franklin, Edison) Read books on insulators & conductors Used vocabulary words from kit to make a concentration game Speakers: Electrician, telephone company employee Trip to Point Beach Energy Center Energy Balls – the whole class can hold hands & keep the circuit complete. If one person drops their hands, the circuit breaks Use Christmas lights as part of the series & parallel lesson Examined buttons that light up and blink [ie Kiss Me I’m Irish]. We discussed how they work and why they light. Added static electricity Added atoms and how they work with electricity Writing a recipe for an electrical circuit – gives the student an opportunity to explain construction of a circuit in a step by step manner. |
