Write to local people, companies, etc. regarding pollutants in our environment

Using the school grounds as a good source to see how the "ecosystem" has changed, ask parents to add information as to how the school grounds have changed over time.

Inspiration software to Web Relationship – dependence, independence, interdependence

Videos: "Artic & Antarctica", and "Deserts" by DK – students took notes on these extreme ecosystems and we compared/contrasted to our eco-columns.
Also showed the DK Eyewitness video "Pond & River"

Take the students on a watershed walk through the neighborhood, searching for surface runoff pollution and its routing to storm sewers and nearby streams. Litter along stream beads can often be traced to storm sewer run-off.

For Lesson 14, examine problems of the local ecosystem and see if you have similar issues.
