Modification for the Sun Calendar:
(Instead of using the clothespin)
Attach a strip of paper with a brass fastener behind the sun [ie. push the fastener first through the sun, then the strip, and then the paper plate].
At the other end of the strip of paper, attach the circle for the earth like before [the one that went on the clothespin], with another brass fastener.
Make the strip long enough to extend beyond the edge of the plate, about 7-8 in. total, and wide enough to support the circle, about an inch.
The students can see rotation & revolution [make sure you rotate and revolve counter clockwise].
