Teacher Recommended Resources - The Sky

ACTIVITIES:
Sing "Dr. Jean's Planet Song"
Make a planet mobile to hang in the room
Go outside and do the number of footsteps between planets (good for spatial skills)
For Moon boots we attached large car wash sponges to the bottom of the student's feet using large rubber bands
Use pizza rounds to create planets to wear
Create a team-like environment when doing the Mission Control Panels, with commanders and crew members. Create special headbands for the commanders and crews.
Make a poster of the different phases of the moon

INQUIRY:
Visit a local planetarium
Contact NASA ahead of time and receive NASA stickers for your space suits. May also receive a small poster of one of the shuttles for each student.
