Wisconsin Public Service & The Einstein Project

Electric Circuits unit & training grant

Thanks to a grant from Wisconsin Public Service (WPS), a limited number of opportunities are available for schools to experience the hands-on inquiry-based science education materials that inspire K-8 children to love science. Studies show using the Einstein science units help children retain what they've learned and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.

This WPS grant allows up to two teachers per school to receive The Einstein Project's Electric Circuits unit for 6 to 8 weeks for use in their 3rd to 5th grade classroom. In addition, the grant will pay the tuition for the teacher(s) to attend an Einstein training to learn how to teach this exciting and engaging science unit. This grant has up to a $300 value per teacher, and schools may request the grant for one or two teachers.

This is a one-year grant, with the option to apply for 50% funding the second year.  After two years, the school would need to lease the units themselves (training is only required the first time a teacher uses the unit.)

Eligibility:

  1. School must be within the Wisconsin Public Service electrical service area (a WPS electric customer).
  2. School will not have used The Einstein Project Electric Circuits unit previously.
  3. Grant application must be complete and submitted by the deadline for consideration for the next funding period. Units will be scheduled for use based upon availability.
